The Lancome Ultra Matte shakes have me shook. Sorry for the painful pun.. and the terrible slang, I am not cool so I really should not even try. Anyway, the Lancome Matte shakers are the second release from this line, following the Juicy Matte Shakers which everyone seems to love but these are amazing too. I only have the shade ‘Pink Power’ to share in this Lancome Ultra Matte Shakers review but I will be adding more to my collection very soon.
Lancome Matte Shakers
If you are looking for a lip product that is pigmented, comfortable and long-wearing. This Lancome Ultra Matte Shaker review is for you. Coming in a range of gorgeous shades, these lip shakers are sized to be pocket-friendly and the formula blew my expectations out of the water. The Lancome Ultra Matte Shakers come in 7 gorgeous shades which range from nudes, peaches, bright pops of colour and dark bold shades. These lipsticks are designed to have a strong colour payoff while still being lightweight, non-drying and in a formula which can barely be felt on the lips.
I have the shade Pink Power which is a true, magenta pink. It’s that pink everyone wants to be able to pull off and no one is sure if they really can or not but hey, it’s a fun colour to wear and it looks so gorgeous in photos. This colour is a little (okay, a lot) out of my comfort zone but it has given me a taste of the Lancome Ultra Matte shakers and honestly, I love what I have seen so far. I am dying to get my hands on the shade beige because I am boring and It just looks like the perfect, everyday colour.
These lipsticks are a light formula and it can appear sheer at first glance but don’t be deceived. The best way to get colour pay off is to shake the shaker, then open the lid and sit it back on the product (do not twist) and shake again. This releases more product and let me tell you something, these shakers are so pigmented and are not what I was expecting at all. I saw the original Juicy shakers when they were revealed and the gorgeous sheer formula looked ideal for the summer months. However, for some reason, I envisioned a similar formula for this product and I was so wrong. The formula is light but pigmented and smooth, light weight but long wearing. This little shaker packs a punch.
These are easy to apply, even with the sponge applicator which I was not sure that I would like. I do find it a little awkward holding because it’s so small and my fingers and long and lanky, but I am super impressed with how easy these are to apply and also, by how long wearing they are. I find that even with the bulk of the product wears off the lips, it still leaves a stain which I love. These lipsticks are perfect for the low maintenance girl who loves makeup, like me!
I have been loving this product and I would be wearing it every day if I had the balls to wear this colour to work. For now, this is a lipstick I wear on the weekends and I am just loving the formula. *Edited: I have now started wearing this shade to work because the formula is just that good.
